Release Notes
What's new in each version of Tyranote. Updates can be installed right from the in-app notice.
v1.1.904 · 2026.10.03
We reworked sync so that people who move between devices always see the latest version of every note. We also made usage statistics opt-in worldwide and updated our Terms and Privacy Policy accordingly.
New features
- Real-time sync — Edits made on another device now appear instantly. If the connection drops, Tyranote falls back to the previous schedule (on launch, after editing, and every 10 minutes).
- Usage statistics consent — On first launch, you choose whether to send usage statistics. You can change this at any time in Settings → Other; turning it off deletes the records for that installation.
Improvements
- Tyranote now checks for new versions every hour, so update notices appear without restarting the app.
- macOS menu bar: when you have urgent to-dos, the dinosaur icon shows an N badge.
- Revised the Terms of Service, EULA and Privacy Policy, with reference translations in 7 languages.
v1.1.903 · 2026.10.03
We reviewed every path where data could be lost, so the notes you write stay safe in any situation. We also added a short guide for first-time users.
New features
- New installations now start with guide notes covering the essentials, in the language you're using.
Improvements
- Signing out now clears the notes stored on this PC. All notes are uploaded to your account before you sign out, so they remain in your account.
- Tidied up the Other section in Settings.
Bug fixes
- Fixed an issue where an open note window could overwrite changes made on another device. Both versions are now kept.
- Fixed backup export failing when there were many notes.
- Text you're typing is no longer lost when a save fails.
- If the encryption key can't be read, Tyranote now locks instead of creating a new key, protecting your existing notes.
v1.1.902 · 2026.10.02
Tyranote is now available in 9 languages so people around the world can use it. This release also improves stability — including a fix for duplicated notes — and adds a direct channel for your feedback.
New features
- 9 languages — 한국어 · English · 日本語 · 简体中文 · 繁體中文 · Español · Deutsch · Français · हिन्दी. Change the language at the top of Settings; on Windows, the app starts in the language you chose during installation.
- Language-specific fonts — Pretendard JP for Japanese, Source Han Sans for Chinese and Noto Sans Devanagari for Hindi.
- Send feedback — Send questions or suggestions directly from Settings (sign-in required).
- Choose your language in the Windows installer.
Improvements
- The tray icon is now the Tyranote dinosaur and shows how many notes are due soon.
- Tyranote collects usage statistics that never include note content, to improve the service. Starting with v1.1.904, they are collected only with your consent.
Bug fixes
- Fixed an issue where writing one new note could create two or three copies. Existing duplicates are moved to the Trash after updating and can be restored for 30 days.
- Fixed new notes being left behind as "Untitled" after you deleted all their text.
- Fixed deleted notes reappearing from another device, the same note opening in two windows, and due dates reverting when quitting the app.
v1.1.900 · 2026.09.30
Refined the Planner layout and how the icon appears on Windows.
Improvements
- The update notice is now pinned to the top of the In progress list, so it stays visible even when the list is collapsed.
- On the Windows desktop and taskbar, the icon is now the same size as other apps.
v1.1.899 · 2026.09.29
Dark mode is now the default, for comfortable use over long sessions.
Improvements
- The default theme is now dark. You can switch to light mode in Settings.
v1.1.898 · 2026.09.29
A fresh start with a new name and icon: Tyranote. All your notes and settings carry over.
New features
- New name and icon — Tyranote, with a dinosaur icon made of sticky-note pixels.
- .tyranote backup files — Existing backup files still open as before.
- Sponsor card — Added a sponsor card at the top of the Planner. It shows only sponsors we select ourselves — no third-party ad SDKs and no tracking.
Improvements
- On Windows, windows no longer jump to the front and take keyboard focus just because the mouse hovers over them.
Bug fixes
- Fixed text typed into a new note being recorded in a hidden window.
- Fixed conflict copies appearing repeatedly even when using a single device. Cleaning up conflict copies now clears the conflict label right away.
v0.4.1 · 2026.09.28
Simplified the update process.
Improvements
- Clicking the update button now installs the update and restarts the app automatically.
- The update notice links straight to the release notes.
- The Windows installer is available in Korean.
- Installer file names now include the version.
v0.4.0 · 2026.09.28
Made everyday use faster and more polished.
Improvements
- Notes open instantly without flicker, even the first time, and the note list appears as soon as the app starts. Switching between windows is faster too.
- Smoother window corners, window sizes that stay the same when you change monitors, and tidier default sticky-note sizes.
- Windows and macOS now use the same font (Pretendard).
- Conflict copies show which device made the change, and no copy is created when the content is identical.
Bug fixes
- Fixed one click opening two notes, and window borders being clipped on Windows.
v0.3.0 · 2026.09.27
Improved typing responsiveness and sync reliability.
New features
- Selecting a date in the calendar shows the holiday name.
Improvements
- Typing feels lighter — autosave no longer briefly pauses input.
- With multiple monitors, notes opened by shortcut appear on the screen where your mouse is.
- Edits made on two devices at the same time are both preserved.
Bug fixes
- Fixed sync issues, including changes just made on another device being overwritten with older content.
v0.2.2 · 2026.07.20
New ways to organize notes, and better reminders.
New features
- Folders — Organize starred notes into folders and drag to reorder them. Folders sync across devices too.
- Missed deadlines and evening recap — Missed deadlines appear first in the morning briefing, and each evening you get a summary of what you finished that day.
Bug fixes
- Fixed pasted Korean text splitting into separate letters on macOS, deleted notes reappearing through sync, and other issues.
v0.1.0 · 2026.07.11
The first release of Tyranote — a notes and planner app for jotting things down and getting back to work in three seconds.

- Search — Find notes by title, content, or even a date like "June 11".
- Security — Notes are encrypted on your device with AES-256, and deleted notes can be restored for 30 days.
- Sync (free) — Sign in with your email to continue across devices.
- Available for macOS and Windows.
